Magpie Wattle Point

Magpie Wattle Point
Medium: Oil
Base: Canvas
Year: 2009
Magpies are great birds. I know many people don't like them for their habits of swooping, (something that I have never experienced) but I was taught to warble to them as a child by my mother and they have been my friends ever since.
This little guy was busy looking for lunch at Wattle Point (Victoria, Australia) when I got his photo. It was cropped to get the composition I was after, but the picture fell together in a matter of a couple of hours. I was after something simple where all your attention is drawn to the bird, something not overworked or too complicated.
