Preliminary sketch of Seascape Study 1. This pastel drawing is included here to illustrate the creative process for the painting of an artwork. It is just a way of ironing out any problems I may encounter. It is also a chance to work out colour and composition. I may decide from this stage to change the colours, change the ratio of the pic, add or delete items or do it as close as possible to the sketch. |
