Oil painting on board of an imagined seascape. This is the result of wishing to go on a holiday somewhere warm and tropical. The scene is a combination of memories from various beaches that I have enjoyed wandering along and swimming at during past vacations, both overseas and in Australia. |

When you cut your own board for paintings there is always going to be off-cuts of odd size. My studio has been building up steadily with such items for a while with me wondering what to do with them as I don't like waste. |

On a particularly cold and rainy day I was thinking how much I wished to be on a nice warm tropical island somewhere enjoying the warm sun and perfect water. |
|
Since I haven't the time or the funds for such a trip the next best thing was to go there mentally and paint it. That is how this painting came to be. The desire to make best use of all my materials and for a holiday! |

Paintings in this very long and wide shape are very popular and this one has received some very positive remarks. I am leaving it unframed as framing this type of work can be a matter of personal taste which I will leave to the purchaser of the work to decide with a good framer. |
