Row Boats II

Row Boats II
Medium: Oil
Base: Canvas
Year: 2009
Oil Painting of the sea shore in Frankston (Victoria, Australia) area during summer on nine individual canvasses mounted on framed board painted black with the strong red of one of the row boats reflected in the mounting board. The frame is black and is addition to the size of the work.
This painting was also created after the recent successful reception of and requests for similar works to Seashell. I have changed the major subjects in the work for some variety, but hopefully, kept the theme.
This is one of a series of artworks produced from the inspiration of the seaside colours on the Mornington Peninsula.
The boats are the major centre of interest in this work, creating, I hope, that "holiday" feel, when you take the time to hire a row boat to paddle about and enjoy the views.
Dimensions (metric): 52 cm (width) × 52 cm (height), (includes mounting board and frame)
Provenance: Artist
Credit: Original photography by Janice Mills.
