Montanas Calico is a 7 year old tobiano coloured paint-quarter horse. She was bred at the Corvid Appaloosa and Quarter Horse Stud in Pearcedale Victoria, Australia. |
Her sire was Montana Jesse James, who stood at the stud for many years. |
Tobiano is a colouring that I had never encountered before. Roughly it means the horse has white legs, a white patch going round most of the body, dark head with a star and snip on the nose and spots in some of the white parts of the coat. |
Corvid kindly allowed me to photograph on the property whilst I was researching my next horse. I already own a horse bred at the stud (Corvids Jesses War Cutter). His intelligence and kind nature have convinced me to go nowhere else for my next horse. |
Corvid take great pride in the temperament and beauty of their horses. They can perform at an impressive level in any discipline whilst also making themselves loving and gentle members of the families who own them. |
I took quite a few photos at the stud on the day I got this lovely pose of Calico. She was quietly standing under the trees and looked back at me as I took the shot - perfect! |
Corvid now have a print of this painting gracing their home and have expressed interest in my work, as I have in their wonderful horses. |
