2009 Karingal Exhibition

The 2009 McClelland Guild of Artists' Art Exhibition

It was good to see so many colleagues entering works of such a high standard.

This year the judging was performed by Mr Robert Lindsey, Director of the McClelland Art Gallery near Frankston.

I entered three works, two into the Oil/Acrylic Painting division and one into the Contemporary division.

It was great to see that my work Gums which has already won a second place at the monthly guild meetings earlier this year, has now been awarded a "Highly Commended" in the Oil/Acrylic division of this exhibition.

This is only the third exhibition I have entered since resuming my fine art career just under five years ago. The winner for Oil/Acrylic was Louise Alderson for her work "Jewel from the Garden" and Ron Thomas also received a Highly Commended.

The positive thing I come away with from events like this is that every opportunity to show my work like this one, is a step in my growth as an artist and in gaining more confidence to continue. I am looking forward to my next exhibition and competition and a chance to meet some more like minded people to share my passion with.
