Artist of the Year Awards 2007

Third Place - McClelland Guild of Artists

This year I had the honour of again being placed 3rd in the Artist if the Year Awards at the McClelland Guild of Artists.

It has been a busy year for me. I have attempted to present artworks at every monthly meeting for the guild.

This has meant trying out some new mediums and techniques, which has resulted in a lot of learning and growth for me.

It has also meant the distinction of having a painting singled out at the yearly assessments for the guild by the presiding artist. The event was photographed and reproduced the the guild newsletter which has been a great honour. Some very positive comments were made about this work - which is on this web site. It is named Wetlands Lakes Entrance and is a deviation from my normal style. One that has been more than worth the effort.

I have received many words of encouragement and support this year. None more so than with these experiments in a more vibrant colour pallet and change of subject matter.

The placing in the Artist of the Year Awards tops off what has become a big year. One of many to come I hope.
