The world wide web (WWW) is a great opportunity for all fine artists to promote their artworks to the world. The web avoids all the classical traps in dealing with ambivalent or expensive promoters.

Self Promotion via The World Wide Web

An important thing I have learned over the years as a Graphic Designer is the importance of getting your name and product "out there". As a fine artist it is all too easy to cloister yourself away to madly produce a lifetime of work that never sees the light of public viewing.

Marketing 101 would suggest that product is not the only thing you have to consider. The following, of Placement and Pricing, are also major considerations if you are to go from amateur to professional status.

For those of us who are on budgets, the web can be considered a godsend. How else can you make your product freely available for viewing by anyone in any country who has a computer linked to the internet? A potential customer base of hundreds of millions of people. With these thoughts in mind, I have constructed this site.

Speaking personally, I don't have the budget or time to investigate galleries, or exhibitions that may be spread all over the state. Apart from the investment of time, there is also the cost of shipping and the high commissions being asked for.

Most exhibitions also ask that works be framed. Unless you have a guaranteed sale, the financial investment of having to pay for framing a work in the hope of selling it is not always possible either.

Add to this the risk of having artworks damaged whilst in in transit or at an exhibition, and you can see why the web is looking more and more attractive.

With these thoughts in mind, I have constructed this site.

For the art lover who wants to look at what is "out there". For the art collector who wants to purchase works by otherwise unknown or up and coming artists.

For anyone considering purchasing a work already on this site, or commissioning a work, framing can be arranged if requested or you may want to consider looking at your decor and consulting a framing professional to finish the work off to fit into your home.

All enquiries about any works on this site are most welcome. You are invited to use the feedback page to share your thoughts.
