Third Place - McClelland Guild of Artists

After a break from painting for roughly 20 years, it has been interesting to begin my fine art career again.

One of the best things I have done is to join a reputable guild. The workshops and monthly meetings have been a huge benefit.

There is so much you can learn by networking with like-minded people. It is also a great way to be encouraged to try new things and not to give up.

I have been a member of the McClelland Guild of Artists for about 3 years now, and last year it was a great thrill to be awarded third place in the Artist of the Year Competition.

Having only been practising again for such a short time after such a long break, it came as a huge and extremely pleasant surprise.

From the encouragement I have received from members and the guest artists who award the monthly prizes has come this web site and the desire to more fully commit to promoting myself as a professional fine artist.

To everyone who has been so supportive I can only say thank you, I am grateful to you all.
