Chloe is a 2 year old kelpie. Her owner Narelle Anderson commissioned a portrait of her and supplied the photograph. She had doubts about the portrait coming out as she admitted to not having the greatest shot of her beloved canine. |

This portrait, I hope shows what can be done as long as you have most of the important information on the picture. |

Chloe's face was clear and a good quality scan and some use of photoshop on the Mac removed unwanted information to provide me with a picture focussing on Chloe's face. It was just a matter of printing a large colour copy, keeping the colour of her coat correct and using that as a guide. |

I also spoke to Narelle about Chloe, what her personality was like, so that as I drew her, I could think about her character and bring that out in the final work. |

Narelle was thrilled with the final result, which is more that I can ask for. She is now planning a new commission of her other dog which I look forward to doing soon. |
